SHAWL AND PILLOWS

Summer is almost over so as my "sewing for summer". It actually was my goal, to have all my summer clothes handmade. And what do you know... I achieved it, now I am just curious to see if I am going to wear all those outfits next summer. Anyway, need to take pictures and post them here.

And this is my last projects (the beginning of fall season ;) ).

I bought this gorgeous piece of red silk in my local arc for $0.5. It was a small piece so I figured the only thing I can make with it is shawl. It took me two minutes to sew it together and then... I got stuck... I could not figure out how to decorate it and plain... well, it looked kinda boring. Finally after a whole week of looking at the thing I figured it out. And you know what? I am quit pleased! All it took is few pieces of velvet from tapestry samples book and some golden thread. I do not have the embroidery one so it is all just zig-zug. Thank you, Singer! I am in love with my machine!

And the second one... You know, how your chairs get cold in the morning and your poor little tohes is not really happy? Well, this is the solution - chair mats. And I really love the slight Japanese feel about them, I did not want mine to be too fluffy, but it all depend on what kind of material you use for stuffing.
