As I mentioned in my first post, I have two sons. If you have children, you know, how your heart breaks when they cry or upset especially if you can't help them. You know, right? And then... at one point both of them became taller then me (this process is still going on) and I realize that now I feel their pain and tears even harder than before. My only explanation is: when you see somebody bigger than you are, your brain immediately reads it as "this person is stronger than me". Stronger, so can handle more. And if you see this person crying from pain or offence, your brain multiplies the pain. I remember after one vacation with my Dad (I love you, Dad, but none of my boys are going to spend vacations with you. I know, it is not your fault, you pretty much did not have a childhood yourself.... sorry.) my oldest one, who was fifteen at this point, was trying to hold back his tears and his lips were shaking. He was one foot taller than me, and the pain in my heart was unbearable...
Today, when I came to the coffee shop, they told me we need to call 911, the elderly gentleman at the table outside is in pain. I called 911, went outside and stayed with Vlad till the ambulance took him to the hospital. Complete stranger, but seeing grown-up man crying from pain (kidney problem)... makes you swallow this rock on a back of your throat.
Or may be, we women, are just more tolerant to our own pain...
Anyway, Mothers Day came and gone. yes, yes, I know... the sun should not be in their faces.
D. came (his car is in a shop so I picked him up) earlier, went shopping with me. I got some fabrics and he got some shorts and shirts. We came home, I made him and W branch (homemade sausages, eggs and homemade bread. After that we made plans for dinner, watched Big Bang Theory, drank zipping chocolate (I will share the recipe, it is amazing), me and D played cards. Around 3:30 L came with flowers for me and Mom. We got in a car and went to Denver to pick up my Mom and to have dinner. First I thought about going to M. (Russian restaurant). Few reasons none of guys ever been in Russian restaurant, Mom does not care and I was ones in NY. So I defiantly planed as experience, not for food. But D said his Russian teacher takes some students there and they have nothing good to say about food. So... Lets find a German one! Hooray! It is Helga's Restaurant in Aurora and they have pretty good reviews. Called them - they could not guaranty the sitting and could not take any reservations at that point. Finally we set on Thai Flavor in Aurora. And did not regret! Small, cozy, family owned place with wonderful Thai food. We ordered appetisers to share and five different entries - everything deserved A+.
